We are working with an associate recruitment consultancy whose client is a fast growing global export sales company based in Berkshire
Their client is one of the largest Caterpillar dealers in the world. Acting as Caterpillar's official dealer for East and West Africa, the Middle East and Western Siberia, they offer customers a complete range of power generation, construction, mining and materials handling equipment.
They are seeking a Machine Sales Representative. This is a permanent position.
This is the ideal role for a high calibre sales professional with a proven track record in heavy construction environment looking to develop their career with a multinational company. This is the perfect opportunity to sell premium products for a recognised Caterpillar dealer whilst benefitting from extensive international travel.
As a Machine Sales Representative, you will be responsible for selling Caterpillar construction equipment across international markets.
You will study the market, analyse possibilities and collect information regarding the demand for the product.
In this key role, you will determine potential and prospective customers.
You will also prepare contracts from inception to execution. This will include defining type of contract, discussing terms and conditions of the supply, producing documentation, solving discrepancies and analysing documentation of the customer.
You will organise and maintain an accurate and up-to-date computerised customer database.
You will keep in regular contact with the customers, reviewing the contract terms and preparing documentation for renewal.
You will analyse volume of sales and report to the Head of the Department.
You will prepare and participate in fairs, tenders, and exhibitions.
You should be an accomplished Sales Representative with a track record of business relationship management in the heavy construction equipment sector.
You should be of graduate calibre and ideally hold a degree in Engineering or Business Management. A formal sales and marketing qualification is desirable.
Knowledge of Caterpillar products whilst desirable is not essential.
You should have strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent presentation skills and good analytical skills.
You should be PC / IT literate, ideally have experience of CRMs and have a clean / relatively clean driving licence.
This role does involve some international travel.
