Our client is a looking for experienced Centreless Grinders to join their specialist engineering company. They are a successful, family run firm based in Rugby, which has built itself up to be a leading manufacturer of punch & die products throughout Europe & the USA.

Your duties as a Centreless Grinder would include;

Knowledge & Experience in Setting & Operating Centreless Grinding Machines

• Set up and operate centreless grinding machines to grind external surfaces of metal work pieces, following tooling instructions and standard charts and applying knowledge of grinding procedures.
• Read blueprint and job order for product specifications, such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground.
• Mounts grinding wheel and regulating wheel on spindles with wrenches.
• Dresses wheels to specifications, using dressing device.
• Moves controls to set specified grinding speeds, feed rates, and spacing between wheel faces.
• Positions and secures work rest at specified height, using wrenches.
• Starts machine and observes operation.
• Verifies dimensions of ground work piece for conformance to specifications, using measuring micrometres.
• Changes worn grinding wheels, using wrenches.
• May set up automatic work-feeding device

The ideal Candidate will have:

• Must have at least one year of proven experience
• Must possess a good understanding of general machining practises
• Must have basic understanding of engineering drawings
• Must have a flexible attitude towards work

Salary: Good Salary DoE

The role is commutable from: Loughborough, Corby, Milton Keynes, Stratford-upon-Avon, Birmingham & Tamworth
