The Redline Group are currently seeking an experienced contract Design Manager (Power Electronics) to provide an effective interface between design, sales and the customer on key value added projects.

You will work for a well known name and have the opportunity to work a 3 day week, with exceptional daily rates.

Position Overview - Design Manager (Power Electronics)

-Technical power supply design expert
-Deep knowledge of the power electronics market
-Work closely with internal and external Sales teams to maximise project opportunities.
-Identify new business opportunities generated from a technical viewpoint.
-Provide a degree of pre and post sales technical product support.
-Preparing forecasts, budgets, reports, for bespoke power supply projects
-Undertake and manage specific power supply projects both internally and externally (50% each)
-Research market technical activity
-Investigate technical developments in Power Supply design.
-Provide product and general technical information support to product management, internal and external sales teams for key projects and key products.
-Develop and manage effective relationships with the engineering groups of key suppliers.

About You:
-Degree Electronics/Electrical Engineering
-Extensive analogue power supply design experience
-Project design experience with high levels of customer interface/ input.
-Highly developed communication / persuasion / sales skills
-Likely held an Applications Engineering or technical Sales / Marketing role.
-Knowledge and application of various tools and techniques used in design process. CAD system, PCB layout, EMC testing, mechanical design.
-Proven experience of power electronics design preferably power supplies
-Capable of inception of design, through to building prototype.
-Good commercial awareness.
-Project management skills.

KPI's
-Timely and accurate provision of information to Sales team to enable them to win projects.
-Technically support all new product introductions from key suppliers
-Filter new opportunities identified by sales team, in terms of technical requirement, profitability and ease of manufacture.
