A world leading technology focussed organisation based in Cambridge is looking for a Database Applications Engineer to join their highly successful team.
The position involves all aspects of the front-end and database design and maintenance in our characterisation automated test systems. From the front-end point of view this includes architecture design, evaluation and selection of technologies, development and testing of web based graphical user interfaces. From the database point of view this includes architecture,
evaluation and selection of technologies, development, test and administration.
Skills Required:
- Degree (or equivalent qualification/ experience) in maths/science/software/electronics
- Excellent proven understanding of, at least, one transactional database (mySQL or postgreSQL strongly preferred)
- Excellent proven understanding of, at least, one scripting language (python strongly preferred)
- Understanding of, at least, one high-level programming languages (Java strongly preferred)
- Understanding of, at least, one NoSQL database (mongoDB strongly preferred).
- Understanding of debugging and high-volume data application optimising techniques
- Full software development life cycle experience
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with automated test systems.
* Experience with Apache/django.
* Experience with jQuery and HighCharts
