My client is a leading semiconductor company working at the forefront of IP development for the latest consumer multimedia devices. They are recruiting for a top Graduate with a highly mathematical background to join their Graphics Department.
You will join the Validation team and focus on the optimisation of faster, smaller, more robust and power-efficient hardware. The work of this team underpins the technical direction of designs for the whole company, hence this is a fantastically challenging position, in which you will work with various hardware and software groups within the company, and work on all of the company's math intensive algorithms to guarantee correctness of components.
Required:
*An excellent degree (1st / 2:1 or equivalent) in Mathematics, Electronic Engineering or Computer Science
*A strong numerical background (knowledge of error analysis, numeric analysis or theorem proving would be of particular interest)
*A keen interest in research and innovation into new techniques and solutions
*Excellent communication skills, with an ability to easily converse with and educate many different groups within the business about validation
*Experience in VHDL / Verilog / C / C++ would be a bonus, however not essential
