Overview

My client has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Lead PHP Developer to work on a number of projects on our impressive client list. Your main responsibilities would be leading and working as part of team of developers developing PHP LAMP sites.

We are looking for a candidate with a passion for the web, continually looking to update and improve their skills. We have an open attitude to technology and are committed to incorporating new technologies into the work we produce for our clients.  

Responsibilities

Some of the main duties for this role are:

• Working with the account management and project management team to develop technical specifications and project plans.
• Leading of development team including PHP developers / HTML developers and Javascript developers.
• Development of PHP code to a high quality.
• Development of automated tests and functional tests to integrate with our continuous integration process.
• Coordination of QA processes to ensure projects are delivered to a high quality standard.
• Building search engine friendly websites
• Ensuring source code is committed and maintained in our central Subversion repositories.
• You will work directly with an Account Director and their team to support the technical delivery of their projects helping to estimate and specify solutions, monitor delivery and development of projects and ensure projects are delivered on time and to estimated times
• Identifying any potential project issues and risks and raising them with the Technical Director in a timely manner
• Ensuring that development processes are adhered to on your work and within your team
• Work with the team to improve and refine our development process standards.

Person Specification

• Excellent PHP/MySql developments skills
• Proven leadership experience with a web design agency
• Good documentation skills with client facing experience and communication skills
• Some server administration experience on Linux distributions
• Experience of a wide range of open source frameworks / libraries e.g. Symfony, Zend, or Cake.
• Experience with one or more open source CMS system e.g. Drupal or Joomla.
• Experience with open source e-commerce platforms e.g. Magento, OS Commerce.
• Knowledge of front end development using XHTML / CSS
• Knowledge of javascript and javascript frameworks e.g. jQuery or prototype.
