Power Plant Engineers Jobs based in North East for Degree Qualified Mechanical Engineers with established competence in Power Plant Engineering Design in the following areas:

Operational assessment, failure investigation and problem solving on existing coal, gas, oil and biomass fired plant.
Developing engineered solutions to improve performance, operability and flexibility in the area of balance of plant processes and equipment.

Investigating plant areas including feedheating and condensing plant, main and auxiliary steam systems, cooling water systems, effluent systems, boiler and heat recovery steam generators, fuel systems and mechanical handling.

Salary level from £35,000 - £40,000 per annum plus Benefits.

Commutable from Ashington, Bishop Auckland, Consett, Durham, Gateshead, Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne, South Shields, Sunderland, Washington, and Whitley Bay

This role would be suitable for you if you
" Can undertake technically challenging work with a minimum of supervision
" Are able to lead a multi-disciplined project team.
" Are working towards IMechE Chartered Engineer status
" Have a high degree of customer focus in your current or previous roles
" Are competent with the use of MS Office and proprietary calculation software tools
" Have good written and spoken communication skills
" Possess good team working skills.

The Mechanical Engineers Jobs requires visits to UK power station sites to meet customers, discuss projects, carry out plant assessments and develop improvement solutions therefore a valid UK driving licence is required.

Travel to other business units will also be required, as will occasional overseas travel.
