We're currently recruiting for the vacancy of SCRUB AND ANAESTHETIC PRACTITIONER on behalf of a prestigious Hospital in the Somerset region.

A large hospital in Somerset run by one of the UK's leading independent healthcare providers. This hospital provides a variety of excellent clinical services and is equipped to handle a comprehensive range of medical and surgical procedures.

SCRUB & ANAESTHETIC PRACTITIONER

DUTIES
* Working as a Theatre Practitioner, to provide peri-operative care to patients undergoing surgery according to the individual surgical needs of the patient.
* Perform pre operative patient checks,
* Prepare and check anaesthesia equipment,
* Monitor and chart vital signs;
* Preparation of the surgical field prior to the procedure, and strict maintenance of sterility,
* Ensure the safe positioning and transfer of patients within the department,
* Handling instruments and providing full assistance to the surgeon throughout the procedure,
* Responsible for accounting of all disposable and non-disposable instrumentation used throughout the procedures,
* Provide team leadership skills when required
* Assist the Anaesthetist and continuously monitor the patient through out the procedure,
* Administer anaesthesia prescribed by anaesthesiologist
* Assist the Anaesthetist with intubation and extubation
* Liaise with Post Op Recovery nurse after the procedure.
* Participation in on call duties.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
* RGN or ODP with a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience working in Anaesthetics and Scrub.
* Hold current NMC or HPC registration.
