Parallel Consulting, recruiting on behalf of an establish retail brand, is urgently recruiting for a Software Configuration Manager to join a project-centric technology team. You will be required to deliver a continuously improving configuration management service to the IT Development & Delivery organisation, whilst maintaining the Configuration Management teams role in the Software Delivery Life Cycle.
The role will be responsible for managing, controlling and maintaining Software Configuration Management tools, policies, processes and procedures in order to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the SCM team. The role will administer, enhance and manage a source code base via the source control system (currently VSS and SVN migrating to Git).

*Practical experience of software configuration management in
*Knowledge of techniques for automated and manual software build and deployment
*Experience encompassing writing, maintaining and enhancing configuration management
*Experience of scripting and automating CMS tools and processes
*Experience of continuous integration servers (automated builds)
*Ability to multitask and operate within a busy working environment
*Experience of building VB6 and .net code base
Desirable:
*Experience of working with Git (or another distributed version control tool)
*Experience of Visual SourceSafe and Subversion (SVN)
*Experience of SCM tool migration (specifically to Git)
*Experience of Cruise Control.Net
