Parallel Consulting are currently recruiting on behalf of a major mobile outsource brand who are looking for an iOS Platform Head to join their expanding mobile development unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties across iOS development, including architecture, governance, line management & recruitment.
This role is for technical candidates with significant experience developing large, multithreaded enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
*Architecture; responsible for all iOS application architecture.
*Standard; involved in enforcing & defining standards across iOS development.
*Governance; responsible for governing development across iOS development.
*Quality; responsible for enforcing & defining code review policies in order to maintain the quality of all the iOS projects.
*Work estimation; work across various teams to estimate workload & time length for upcoming iOS projects.
*Mentor; mentor project & platform team leads, helping with queries.
*Line management; line manage the platform members including the team leads.
*Tools; work with other platform heads (Android, BlackBerry & Windows Phone) to define & introduce tools & technologies for the iOS platform.
*Contact point; act as the point of contact for any iOS platform related queries.
*Recruitment; assist in the recruitment process for new team members.
Essential:
*Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
*Extensive experience of iOS application architectures & design guidelines.
*Experience of developing multithreaded networked iOS mobile applications.
*A strong portfolio of iOS applications on the Apple App Store.
*Experience of managing a team of mobile developers.
*Experience in developing custom iOS widgets / views.
*Good understanding on how to scale iOS UI across multiple devices.
*Strong MVC / OO programming skills, demonstrable through past work examples.
*Experience in JSON / XML based application development.
*Experience with JUnit or equivalent.
*Experience with version control; eg. GIT / SVN / Mercurial / CVS.
Highly Desirable:
*Experience of other mobile platforms; eg. JME, Blackberry, Android & Windows.
*Experience in REST architecture, JSON based app development & Google MAP API.
*Hands on experience with Ant & Maven.
*Working knowledge of SQLite.
*Experience with Continuous Integration tools, eg. Hudson / Jenkins.
*Experience with Git / Gerrit for code reviews.
*Experience of Agile methods, with SCRUM.
*Experience with WML / XHTML, or any other similar.
*Experience with automated build scripts & Eclipse IDE expertise.
*Knowledge of Symmetric & Asymmetric Cryptography, NFC, Javacard.
The right candidate will be looking to become an integral part of a vibrant & renowned development team.
In return my client can offer a basic salary of £70,000 to £90,000, plus bonus & a significant benefits scheme.
