  • Our client is a leading provider of aviation parts to the airline industry.  They have a huge inventory of aircraft parts which are currently stored at locations in the USA and at their European Distribution Centre at London Heathrow Airport.
    Quality is paramount to our customers and our client uses a network of authorized repair vendors to ensure parts are repaired and certified to industry standards.  Our client sells parts to airlines around the world.
    They are seeking a Shipment & Repairs Co-ordinator for their European Distribution Centre at London Heathrow.
    This position has responsibility for supporting logistics and repairs activity within the UK warehousing operation. This position acts as a liaison between our client, the repairs vendor(s) and freight forwarders in an effort to: A) ensure timely shipment of parts around the world, to customers, repair shops and any other parties and B) ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with our clients quality standards.
    Specifically you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day repair purchasing activity, including limited negotiation, quote approvals and delivery schedules.
    You will communicate with repair vendors to track repair status and pushing vendors to expedite repairs to fulfill customer needs.
    You will handle complaint resolution and responsible for warranty management.
    You will co-ordinate with Repair Management at our clients Head Office in the USA.
    You will be responsible for arranging shipments between our clients other warehouses and the UK, shipments to and from repair vendors and deliveries to customers.
    You will primary interface with freight forwarders and other logistics organizations.
    You will handle import/export of goods in compliance with customs regulations.
    Finally you will be responsible for all paperwork required for managing shipping and repairs.
    You will be an accomplished Logistics Co-ordinator, Logistics Administrator or Air Freight Co-ordinator with experience of handling international shipments and logistics.
    You should have an understanding of UK and European Import/Export regulations.
    Aerospace Industry experience is NOT essential.
    Candidates must be commercially aware and be able to work as part of a team as well as on their own.
    You should be customer focused with an excellent telephone manner and able to prioritise and work under pressure.
    You should be intermediate/advanced user of MS Office (mainly Excel but also including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint). Experience of SAP systems would be beneficial.
    Salary will be in a range of £18-20k depending upon experience. In addition there are 20 days holiday plus bank and public holidays, pension scheme and private medical insurance after 6 months employment.
