Our Client was established over 40 years ago and   is a Spanish food group specializing in the local supply and distribution of food and food related services.

Its strong identity, linked to the constant commitment to technological innovation, has positioned our client as a leading supplier in providing services in areas such as health, defence, remote sites, education centres, specific population groups, hotels, home care and seniors’ residences.

 They are seeking a Spanish speaking Assistant Director of Operations to be based at our clients Head Office in Spain. This is a permanent position.

 Reporting into the Operations Director, the successful candidate will assist the Operations Director in all aspects of managing the operational aspects of our clients business.

 Specifically you will support and collaborate with the Sales Department during the elaboration of public bids and private offers.

You will support and co-ordinate the implementation of new sites and the supervision and control of existing working centres and sites.

You will create budgets together with the Operations Director and supervise their compliance.

You will co-ordinate the implementation of systems and quality processes.

You will co-ordinate monthly P&L closing of the sites, reviewing the figures and analyzing the deviations from budget.

You will implement action plans to control costs and optimize them.

You will monitor the turnover and customers’ collection.

You will monitor customers sales and aims for the sites and plan actions for achieving sales targets.

Finally you will monitor quality standards and will develop effective relationships Coordination with other company Departments.

You will be an accomplished Spanish speaking Catering Services / Facilities Management Manager with your practical experience supported by a Degree in Catering and Hotel Management or Business Management and/or Facilities Management Services. An MBA is preferred.

 You should have extensive experience in industrial catering and ideally in all or most of the following services: Catering, Food Logistics Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance, and Waste Management

 You should be diplomatic but determined, driven and persistent in actions self-starter, pro-active, autonomous with team orientation, organized and rigorous in approach to challenges.

 Above all you must have the natural ability and courage to drive change, maintain morale, deliver results and an ability to impart knowledge, delegate, train and empower your team.

 You should have proven leadership, management and change management experience in a catering / FM biased business and held a compromable management position in another FM organization.

 You should have good financial management skills in a P&L environment with outstanding budgetary and cost control management.

 Capable of independent thought and possess excellent planning and organisation skills, able to work to tight deadlines, you should be fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish.

 You must be able to work independently in a high pressure and ambiguous environment, possess strong, decisive refined leadership skills, able to define the future and make it happen!

 You will be energetic, highly motivated, results oriented and capable of working in a team with an ethical attitude to business and commitment to our clients values and ethical principles.

 Superb presentation and communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

 You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

  The basic salary will be in a range of 40,000 – 50,000 Euros depending upon experience and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. There is also an annual bonus which is also paid in Euros and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition you will have a laptop and mobile phone.
