They are seeking a German speaking Late Shift Transport Operations Co-ordinator to be based at their offices in Offenbach, Germany. The position is permanent.
Reporting into the Operations Supervisor, the successful candidate will co-ordinate and manage transport bookings ensuring quality of service.
You will input entry of transport booking details into operational system in accordance with company standards.
You will maintain telephone/email contact with customers and transport suppliers.
You will carry out pricing and quotation of new business opportunities as required.
You will input entry of costs and charges into operational system in accordance with standards.
You will ensure that all Business Unit shipments are undertaken to meet, as minimum, or exceed the customers’ expectations in terms of the standard of service provided, cost agreed and suggested time frames.
You will operate within the Company strategy and objectives within the Business Unit.
You will negotiate the best service and best price from suppliers.
In addition you will conduct all business in accordance with our clients operational procedures.
You will ensure customer satisfaction through managing their shipments in the correct way and in accordance to the timeframes specified by the customer.
You will advise customers, where necessary, on customs procedures and their applications.
You will ensure charging out of all consignments and invoice checking is carried out before issuing to customer.
You will liaise with the Finance team in regards to queries on purchase invoices.
You will quote prices to potential and existing customers as and when required within agreed timescales and within Limits of Authority.
You will ensure files are charged out within 3 days of shipment being effected.
You will follow internal procedures and standards and will attend monthly team briefings and will identify personal development needs and will exercise flexibility to support other members of the team as necessary.
You will address all action points from meetings within the appropriate timescales.
You will identify issues with current operating practice, and suggest ways to improve operating performance.
Finally you will develop new processes and practices to advocate a culture of continuous improvement.
You will be an accomplished German speaking Transport Operations professional with a very good understanding of German road transport operations and have knowledge of exit country documentation requirements.
Ideally you will have previous experience of working within freight forwarding/logistics, preferably within automotive industry.
You should have knowledge of transport documentation requirements and have previous experience of consolidations of freight.
You will have excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) in German and English. The ability to speak Polish is an advantage.
You will possess strong administrative, organisational and time management skills.
Your hours of work will be Monday to Friday 15.00 – 21.00 and Saturday 08.00 – 14.00.
Our client is offering a basic salary of around 32,000 – 35,000 Euros pa. In addition there is a bonus scheme which can pay up to 20% of annual salary (typically between 16-19% has been paid). Other benefits include 30 days holiday plus public holidays, pension scheme etc.
