The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day to day running of the branch, making sure that it is cost effective and efficient while meeting all customer needs and obligations. You will continually contribute to the improvement of branch security and profitability.
Specifically you liaise with customers and other Company Managers and staff (in writing/orally/in person) concerning day-to-day operational activities.
You will maintain all aspects of administration to a high standard. You will ensure Company IT systems are up to date and checked as and when required.
You will make sure records are maintained for audit purposes.
You will ensure that the relevant legislation and company procedures and standards (health & safety, security ISO 9001:2000, Finance, Personnel, Uniform and Transport) are adhered to. You will be aware of and work within authority limits and where necessary make regular checks on the Branch. You will ensure vehicles are maintained to standards and will initiate corrective action where necessary.
You will contribute to the completion of branch budget and targeted KPI’s and will monitor expenditure against budget. You will recommend improvements.
You will oversee the day to day running of the branch operations. You will make sure rosters are adaptable for the departments at all times controlling holidays and sickness.
You will authorise staff hours and will conduct sickness and absence interviews. You will carry out welfare visits as instructed. You will ensure safe working practices, deal with T.U. representative on a day to day basis. You will deal with disciplinary matters up to and including final written warning letters. You will carry out regular training development reviews.
You will deal with disciplinary matters in line with Company policy and will maintain effective working relationship with Trade Union/Employee Representatives.
You will set and agree clear objectives with immediate reports, regularly monitoring their performance and taking corrective action for shortfalls. You will establish the number of staff required in each department, and manage the recruitment of operational staff within Company guidelines.
You will communicate with the workforce to give and receive information by Branch meetings and/or staff briefings. Finally you will conduct interviews for recruitment, disciplinary, counselling, welfare and performance reviews.
Ideally you will be an accomplished Operations Manager with experience in the cash handling services sector.
You will have well developed interpersonal, organisational and communication skills and some working knowledge of budgetary controls.
You will also cover ATM/CIT management duties as and when required.
Alternatively you may be an accomplished Logistics Operations Manager with some of your experience gained in a multi – drop environment, giving exposure to business development, quality systems and procedures and budgetary control.
You should be experienced in change management, and excellent inter-personal skills are essential as is an innovative and analytical approach.
Above all you must have the natural ability and courage to drive change, maintain morale and deliver results.
You should have proven leadership, management and change management experience in a distribution business and held a compromable management position in another logistics related organization.
Excellent communication skills and instant credibility are essential.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook and have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities.- July 14, 2012
