Senior Java Developer required for a rapidly expanding Irish owned R&D company based inDublin18. The successful Senior Java Developer will be involved in the development of software components, input into the analysis and design process and when required, the support of the product.

Responsibilities

• Development of software components based on specifications and in line with standards
• Unit and system testing of software components
• Production of software components in line with quality standards and agree time-scales
• Problem analysis and fault correction of pre-release software
• Involvement in the analysis and design phases of the software development life cycle
• Development of technical specifications
• Status / progress reporting against agreed plans and schedules
• Input into the support process where necessary to assist in problem resolution

Key requirements:

• Excellent experience of development in a Java / J2EE environment (Java / Servlets)
• Strong relational database experience - Oracle - PL/SQL

Desirable requirements:

• Experience of an IDE – preferably Eclipse
• Struts 1 and Struts 2 framework experience
• SP / HTML / Javascript experience
• Tomcat or Websphere
• Experience of a source control tool / environment (Subversion)
• Experience of input into software design and drafting of technical specifications
• Experience of JMS, MQ or Web Services (desirable)
• Experience of working under agile methodology (desirable)
• Business Objects Crystal Reports experience (desirable)

• Customer facing skills would be an advantage
