.Net Software Engineer required for leading wealth management and financial services provider based in Dublin City Centre. The successful .Net Software Engineer will become an integral part of the Applications development team and will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies and platforms.

This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to broaden their technical expertise and to develop their knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities:

• Enhance and upgrade existing applications;
• Analyse, understand and support existing applications;
• Work closely with business users to understand issues and identify system and/or process solutions;
• Liaise with members of the IT function and 3^rd party vendors to determine how best to deliver business requirements;
• Support 3^rd party applications and develop software to integrate with leading industry applications using published APIs;
• Carry out preliminary testing of software changes;
• Work closely with members of the IT function and business users in designing and executing test plans.

Requirements:

• A Computer Science/Information Technology related degree;
• 3+ years development experience;
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft .NET environment including C#, VB script, web services and desktop application development;
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and/or Transact SQL;
• Experience developing client and end user based reports based on Windows technologies;
• Experience using relational database technologies ideally SQL Server and Oracle ;
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Organised and thorough attitude;
• An ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads and achieve critical deadlines;
• Excellent technical skills with an ability to map complex technical and business processes; 
• A proven track record of working in applications support within the financial services industry – ideally in stock broking;
• Well-developed IT skills and solid experience of the full system development life cycle;
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills;
• A proven record as a team player
