Mechanical Design Engineer Required

A specialist manufacturing company offering turnkey engineering solutions for the on and offshore oil and gas markets is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to compliment their existing team of specialist engineering staff.

Operating in a key role you'll be responsible for producing innovative design solutions for their existing product range with a good deal of input from their production facility.

Principal responsibilities will include:

- Assisting the Production Manager with design kick-off and specification meetings
- Scheduling work in progress to tie in with production
- Producing design and detail work
- Ensuring BoM is controlled
- Personnel management (temp and perm)
- Delivery of drawing packs to production
- Electronic filing
- Attending and reporting of daily progress meetings
- Attending and reporting of production meetings (Design Team Brief)
- Formulating long term improvement plans
- R&D Capacity planning
- Capacity requirement planning including cost and output measures

This sort of company would suit an individual looking for a long term career. They have seen significant growth over recent years and with the backing of their parent company they have aggressive expansion plans in place for the coming 5 years.

An engineeirng degree is not essential. We need candidates with good mechanical engineering capabilities, whether it's from an apprenticeship or mechanical degree it makes no difference. As long as you have good knowledge of the design processes involved with developing special purpose machinery and excellent design for manufacture expertise then that is ideal.
