A bit of history
We would like to thank David Nicholson, the disgraced former chairman of Nicholson International Ltd (NI), a large international search & selection consultancy, for his refusal to see the Internet as something more than a passing fad.
When in 1993 it was suggested to NI to invest in an Internet site it was shrugged off as just another piece of hype and that NI would not be interested in it. Convinced that there was more to it I left my job as a recruiter to test eurojobs on Demon, the only Internet service available at the time. The site rapidly became successful and eurojobs.com was properly registered as a dotcom. The site as we now know it was officially born in 1995.
The site was revamped based on the prevalent standards of the day, cgi scipts were added and it started to lead it's own life. It started attracting recruitment campaigns from illustrious companies such as Amazon.com, Microsoft, KPMG, Andersen, Hilti and many others.
As I had become involved with a leading London based corporate communications and internet consultancy Eurojobs.com was put on the backburner and basically left to its own devices.
Over the following years Eurojobs.com attracted more and more traffic and advertisers. It slowly grew into a fairly large player in pan-European recruitment. The old site received around half a million page impressions a month. Once this fact had set in the decision was made to transform it into a proper pan-European recruitment site. In 2002 the site was completely redesigned and driven by a new engine developed by Pump IT. In 2005 the architect of the site joined us at Eurojobs.com in order to develop a site that could cope with the ever increasing user base. Our development team is now based in sunny Trieste in Italy.
The current site is a reflection of the ideas behind Eurojobs.com. The European recruitment industry needs more transparency, openness, clarity and standards. This was the case in 1995 and still is the case today.
I hope you enjoy using our service. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions, suggestions or comments.
