We are seeking applications from health & safety professionals for our clients cosmetics manufacturing business.

What you will be doing:

The Health & Safety manager will work as part of a cross-functional team, providing support to the management team and employees to achieve Safety and Environmental goals and objectives in line with overall site goals and objectives.  This role involves creating a culture of strong safety engagement amongst employees and utilising operational excellence principles to drive H & S improvements, compliance with H & S requirements and the development and subsequent achievement of H & S KPIs.

This role reports into the Operations Director.

The key areas of responsibility for this position are:

  • Actively engage with all employees to create an inclusive / ownership culture for Safety.
  • Motivate, energise and influence the Cosmetics Creations team to ensure fresh and leading H & S programmes, initiatives and activities are effectively implemented.
  • Develop and lead H & S Risk Assessment programme and ensure all elements of facility, equipment, tasks, ergonomics and chemicals are appropriately risk assessed.
  • Develop and Maintain Health & Safety KPIs ensuring they are continuously up to date. Attend and chair safety meetings with key stakeholders to drive positive action and performance, ensuring appropriate timely action on KPIs showing a declining trend.
  • Support the Supervisors/Managers where breaches of H & S policy are encountered.
  • Support accident/incident investigation to ensure appropriate root cause analysis is completed and CAPAs implemented.
  • Complete regular audits to ensure the business meets all H & S Regulatory and Business requirements and engage relevant team members (i.e. GEMBA’s)

What you need to apply:

  • Hold a relevant 3rd Level Health & Safety Qualification.
  • Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including strong excel skills.
  • Confident proactive and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and influence others Dual-site role so travel required between Cork & Mayo sites
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance procedures, publications and an ability to interpret relevant legislation on behalf of the company
