Our client is hiring Audiologists for positions in Dublin and around Ireland

The role:

o Provide the full range of routine diagnostic assessments
o Perform behavioural audio logical assessments
o Undertake assessment of hearing & auditory function in patients with
appropriate
selection of testing methods including, but not limited to:
o Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA, sound field, insert, bone conduction)
o Optoacoustic Emissions
o Evoked Response Testing (including ABR) in clinic and under anaesthetic
o Performance/ Play Audiometry
o Standard Pure Tone Audiometry
o Otoscope
o Tympanometry
o Undertake the provision, prescription, fitting and management of hearing
aids
o Interpret the results of tests in light of medical history, the speech &
language

Education & Training

• Actively promote continuous professional education and development,
including supervision of trainees, and identify training needs of team staff.

Qualifications

BSc (Hons) Audiology at Level 8 on the Quality and Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) framework from:
Athlone institute of Technology, Ireland
OR
o BSc (Hons) Health Care Science (Audiology) or its predecessor the BSc in
Audiology
(at Level 8 on the Quality and Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) framework
from:
o Aston University, UK
o De Montfort University, UK
o Middlesex University, London, UK
o University of Leeds, UK
o University of Manchester, UK
o University of Southampton, UK
o University of Swansea, UK
o University College London, Ear Institute, UK

OR

o The British Association of Audiologists Examinations Parts 1 & 2 (or its
predecessor) in respect of existing Audiologist
o OR
o MSc in Audiology Level 9 on the Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) Framework
from:
o University of Cork, Ireland
o University of Manchester, UK
o University of Southampton, UK
o University College London, Ear Institute, UK
o Queen Margaret University (Edinburgh), UK

OR
An AuD/PhD in an Audiology related field

OR

o A qualification in Audiology validated by the Department of Health
AND

o Provide evidence of audiological competence relevant to the scope of practice required for the role.

AND

o Applicants who did not complete the required studies through the medium of
English must demonstrate their proficiency in the English language through
the submission of certification from the IELTS. An overall score of 7.00 is
required with a minimum of Reading 6.5, Writing 7, Listening 6.5, and Speaking 7.
o Demonstrate experience in the following areas as relevant to the role:
o Digital amplification for adults and children
o Hearing aid prescription and verification methods including using REM’s for
adults
o and children


Skills, competencies and/or knowledge

o Demonstrate sufficient clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice to
carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
o An ability to apply knowledge to best practice.
o Evidence of clinical and theoretical knowledge of hearing impairment.
o Technical knowledge of assessment and provision of appropriate aids.
o Excellent knowledge of paediatric evoked potential and behavioural assessment.
o Knowledge of paediatric hearing aid fitting.
o A commitment to continuing professional development.
o A willingness to develop I.C.T. skills relevant to the role.
o Drives a continuous professional development plan with the line manager that
may encompass supervision, mentoring and/or additional training.
o Planning & Organising Skills
