Controllership/Compliance Accountant

This role would suit an ambitious newly qualified accountant seeking a role within Industry that is not purely financial reporting. This is varied accounting role within the pharmaceitical industry and will provide fantastic exposure across thier business.

You will be responsible for supporting the compliance function and the EMEA Credit Controller together with invovement with controllership areas.

Position Specific Job Requirements

* Supporting the bi-annual and annual compliance certification and reporting process
* Assisting with ad hoc SOX activities and reporting
* Responsibility for planning and overseeing the timely and efficient completion of the statutory audits for EMEA
* Key point of contact for the external auditors on all audit related issues

Responsibilities to support the EMEA Credit Controller include:

* Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for key stakeholders including those relating to the monthly or quarterly close.
* Monitoring of credit portfolio and reporting variances to management.
* Perform fundamental credit analysis on existing and new customers, to include both qualitative and quantitative due diligence, including a thorough financial analysis.
* Help with the enforcement of company credit policies and procedures
* Provide support on enhancements to existing credit process and procedures.

Controllership oversight of specific EMEA countries, through:

* Attending month-end flux review calls, seeking clarification from Country Finance teams on any unexpected variances or unusual accounting treatments; ensuring open issues are addressed.
* Supporting Country Finance teams with guidance on internal policies and US GAAP accounting queries particularly with respect to revenue recognition and related gross to net accounting.
* Working on ad hoc projects to enhance policy, strengthen controls and build efficient processes for reporting.
* Sharing best practice across EMEA Controllership and identifying areas of continuous improvement.
* Involvement in any other Controllership and Compliance activities across the International organization as required.
* Implements and maintains accounting systems, policies and procedures including compliance with worldwide Controller’s manual and adapts to local use where necessary.

Education and Experience Requirements:

* 2:1 or first class degree (or equivalent)
* Qualified Accountant-ideally from Big 4
* Experience of multi-national organizations is a plus
