Payroll Specialist - East Cork

Part of an exciting global operation and will have the opportunity to develop your payroll skills in an environment dedicated to excellence.

Duties / Responsibilities

* Reporting to the Payroll Manager.
* Processing payroll across four domestic payroll entities comprising monthly, weekly and biweekly payrolls.
* Completing end to end Payrolls through to banking of payments with maximum accuracy and within specified deadlines.
* Responsible for dealing with and resolving internal and external payroll queries and discrepancies in timely manner
* Complete monthly and yearly statutory returns for each entity
* Liaise with HR Department and HR Operations regarding new starters, leavers, pay changes, etc.,
* Completion of all Monthly Payroll Reports, payroll journals, and other ad hoc reports and budgeting support required to support the HR, Finance, or business departments.
* Updating processes and controls as required.
* Calculation of taxation using specialist knowledge and training both on the job and from research and keeping knowledge up to date
* Supporting the continuous improvement and streamlining of processes
* Keeping up to date with knowledge and skills
* Working as part of an interdependent and supportive team focused on compliance for the company and delivering high level of expertise and professionalism to the customers
* Supporting the payroll manager in day to day activities, projects, payroll process improvements, administration
* All other payroll processing and administration duties required


IPASS Certified Payroll Technician Desirable


* Experience in using payroll systems with CorePay an advantage.
* Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including use of VLOOKUP
* Excellent knowledge of statutory legislation in relation to payroll
* Results driven and deadline focused with proven accuracy and attention to detail
* Have proven experience in running payroll, filing returns and dealing with employee queries.
* Must be able to handle high volume workload and be comfortable with managing and prioritising workload and conflicting demands from stakeholders
* Be supportive to team colleagues
* Have the ability to work independently and enjoy taking responsibility for own work as well as team results
* Be resilient and flexible in approach to work and be comfortable in an evolving environment where change is embraced positively
* Enjoy working collaboratively within the payroll team and with external stakeholders and customers
