Job Description:

Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Development Manager who managed software development teams. Your role will focus on technical leadership and challenging and growing the developers. You will have a technology focus both internally and with partners externally ensuring that there are strong teams in place to meet the objectives of the business.




• Working with developers to grow their technical, interpersonal and leadership skills and to ensure they have the right challenges and necessary context to make use of them

• Communicating and delivering the vision of our websites to the business at a high level and the team at an operational level.
• Participating in PI planning, by working closely with the Solutions Manager, to work out a proper roadmap for our websites that works in line with the roadmap for our internal tools.
• Participate in demos and inspect and adapt workshops of any of our websites, you will be an active participant of our bi-weekly Demos.
• Act as a line manager to the developers working on our websites and to the DevOps Team. Together with the Solutions Manager you will act as a line manager to the QA Team Lead and the Development Coach.
• Advocate and advance modern software development practices within the team (CI/CD, test automation etc) together with the DevOps Team Lead and QA Team Lead.
• Work closely with teams, product owners, agile coaches and stakeholders to ensure we deliver world-class websites.
• Collaborate with our external development suppliers to hire and scale our external development capabilities.
• Work with the recruiting team to attract, hire and retain diverse top talent.
• Manage annual budgets for your department, including training, conferences, tools or anything that might fall within your remit.




• You will have 7 + years experience in leading, coaching and mentoring software developers.

• Possess excellent communication skills with which to build trusting relationships and respect and are able to leverage this to grow people to support company’s rapid growth
• Have a love of developing and growing people.
• You should be comfortable with the current technologies and be aware of new and upcoming technologies.
• You need to be able to tell good code from bad, but here you should be able to also trust your team leads.
• Knowledgeable and passionate about current web development technology, cloud services and best development practices.
• Can demonstrate strong leadership skills whilst working with developers.
• You have familiarity and experience operating in tech organizations that work with websites that handles users at scale, making use of agile methodologies and tools.
