Job Description:

As a Software Specialist you advise customers about technical quality aspects of softwaresystems and software engineering practices, based on your software knowledge.

Job description
As a Software Specialist you advise customers about technical quality aspects of software systems and software engineering practices, based on your software knowledge. You work in small teams during short-term projects (mainly at our headquarters in Amsterdam). You will see a wide variety and amount of software systems that you assess intensively, e.g. by using our in-house developed software analysis tool. You formulate a strong opinion about for example the source code or used architecture, which you share with colleagues and customers. In addition, you contribute to the further development of our automated source code analysis and the tools that help presenting the results of these analyses. These systems are developed in Java and Angular.JS.

What we offer
We offer you a diverse and challenging job surrounded with highly educated colleagues. You get the opportunity to analyse 130+ programming languages and 1200+ different systems but most of all to improve software, worldwide. Our organizational structure is horizontal and there is room for entrepreneurship, own initiative and creativity. Working hours are flexible, and it is possible to work 4 days a week. You will mainly be working at our head office in Amsterdam, combined with workshops and strategy sessions at customers (+/- 30% of your time) some of which are international.

Software usage has increased exponentially. It has become the lifeblood of our society. Our modern lives depend on it. However, software quality has not always kept pace and sometimes it threatens to become uncontrollable and stop organizations from achieving their goals and people living modern lives. We believe that software can be better and we are working to improve it worldwide. We have close university relations and the education level is high. 85% of our employees have university degrees and +/- 30% have a PhD. However, knowledge alone is not enough at SIG. The conversion of this knowledge into understandable and tangible solutions for our customers is what it’s all about.
