The Student Hotel is a brand-new accommodation concept: part classic student residence and part funky design hotel for students-at-heart. Your team:
The Student Hotel Experience Design team is responsible for the creation and execution of all current and future TSH properties. This includes new concepts and refurbishments, plus The Commons (F&B), Collab (co-working) and ad-hoc internal projects. Made up of top talent across all disciplines; we are architects, designers, project managers, FF&E specialist, stylists and more.

The role of the Senior 3D Designer is to lead projects from an interior design perspective, working with your project managers, designers and/or external agencies, contractors and suppliers.

Your goal is to create! Take your design experience from today and blend it with the curiosity from your student days.. Now you fit the profile of our senior TSH designer. Our spaces are expressly designed to encourage learning, discovery and sparking a new connection. We are looking for designers who get that!

These are your responsibilities:

  • Be a design leader; define strategies, create concepts and meet goals set by the project
  • Take ownership of your projects and ensure time schedules and budgets are met
  • Develop design briefs by gathering information through research and internal meetings
  • Work closely with your team to develop designs from concept to execution
  • Sketch, draw, and/or render in the computer to convey your ideas and present designs
  • Be prepared to present finalized ideas and concepts to TSH stakeholders
  • Consider the requirements of construction, installation and fit-out with an awareness of budgets; value engineer when necessary
  • Develop toolkits and guideline packages including drawings, material and furniture specs

And when you’re not designing you…

  • Visit your project sites, get inspired and get to know your customers per city
  • Coordinate with and source external contractors and suppliers; exert quality control
  • Participate in hiring designers, freelancers and external agencies
  • Have an awareness of sustainable materials and technologies to add to your projects
  • Develop fellow designers and interns
  • Getting inspired and sharing with your team

Job Requirements:

You have:
Education & experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in a design studio or in-house department
  • Computer Skills: Vectorworks, Sketch Up, Rhino, 3D Max and Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English, Dutch and other languages are a plus)
  • Experience in directing both internal and external design teams


  • Leadership competences: you know how to grow your team!
  • Energetic, driven, determinate and persistent; able to multitask with a hands-on attitude
  • Absolute eye for detail & perfection; passionate about design
  • Strong understanding of feasibility within given budgetary & design briefs/constraints
  • Sound knowledge of production methods & materials; expertise in making detailed drawings & floorplans
  • Able to prioritize work to meet deadlines under pressure with conflicting prioriti

You also have a Dutch or EU residence/work permit

You are:

  • Creative, imaginative and passionate for good design
  • Energetic, driven, determinate and persistent; able to multitask with a hands-on attitude
  • Organized and able to work to deadlines under pressure with conflicting priorities

And you have a “Student for Life” attitude that shows in a portfolio of previous interior and communication graphics for hotels, restaurants or other equivalent environments
