(Francophone) Sales Account Executive - Energy Series
our client, Africa Oil & Power is recruiting a full-time French speaking Sales Account Executive who will be responsible for seeking sales and managing client relationships. This includes acquisition of sponsors, advertisers, partners and delegates for Africa Oil & Power’s conferences and content platforms such as the Africa Energies Series of documentaries and investment reports. The Account Executive will also be responsible for promoting and selling Africa Oil & Power’s products and services including government and market consultancy, investment promotion (licensing rounds, road shows), brand advisory, specialized events and content development.

This position requires a candidate with a proven sales track record, especially in events and media in heavy industries like oil, gas and power. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, goal-oriented and committed to our clients. The candidate must also have experience in marketing and communications with a solid understanding of a multi-channel media landscape. You should enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be effective in handling multiple projects with tight deadlines.

The Sales Account Executive will travel work in African countries for a period of up to three months per project, and can have a home base in the same time zone (Europe, Africa or the Middle East) in between projects.

The Sales Account Executive will be responsible for all business development sales activity in French speajing Africa countries such as Senegal, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, Ivory Coast, among others.

Job Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of relevant work experience in sales and production, preferably with a focus on B2B enterprise solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related
  • Strong track record of creative, successful pitching with meaningful placements in both traditional and new media
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Past experience with key vertical industries, including construction and extractive industries such as mining, energy and electricity and oil and gas
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization; social media savvy
  • Location: Cape Town or home base (anywhere in similar time zone) between projects
 Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage existing clients to guarantee repeat business and cultivate new relationships
  • Identify new sales inquiries, present our portfolio of services and convert leads to sales
  • Research, update and manage internal contact databases.
  • Ensure payments are made, recorded and pursued
  • Report to the Business Development Director and coordinate with operations staff to plan and execute events that exceed expectations and deliver ROI
  • Track efficacy and make quantified measurements of daily activities using internal reporting tools and third party platforms

Salary Benefits:

Monthly salary, plus commissions. All work related travel expenses including accommodation, transport and communications covered by the company.
