Job Description:

EF Educational Tours is currently looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual for the position of Sourcing and Contract Manager to join our Operations department at our Headquarters in Lucerne, Switzerland. This position will report to the Director Sourcing and Contract Management and work closely with various EF functions and suppliers.

High knowledge of the UK/Irish Market/area is required. Having lived there for a long period of time or being native is a requirement for this position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Negotiation & Contracting – leading negotiations for the assigned components and suppliers
  • Inventory Management – analyze demand, source and process component inventory
  • Strategy – actively participating in setting mid and long term strategic direction for the area of responsibility
  • Component Management – implementation of a category management approach, continuous expansion of know-how for the assigned components and geographical regions
  • Supplier Relationship Management – manage supply base through the implementation of a SRM approach
  • Risk Management – monitor and proactively manage any potential areas of risk
  • Savings, Cost Management and Quality Management – meeting and exceeding cost savings and process efficiency targets by giving EF access to the most favorable pricing and conditions whilst maintaining a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction
  • Budget and Cash Flow Management – participate in the budget processes as part of EF budget cycles
  • Technology – contribute to the development of technology solutions and the improvement of current tools
  • Market Knowledge, Trends and Innovation – being on the forefront to be on the pulse of the supply market, evolving trends in spend categories and geographies with a focus on bringing innovation to EF

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in business, economics or procurement
  • 3 or more years of experience in travel, tourism, educational travel or online travel agency industry
  • Strong interest and network in the tourism industry
  • Passion for educational travel
  • Strategic mindset whilst actively engaged to run day-to-day sourcing priorities
  • Solution oriented, open-minded and driven
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communication, social skills and cultural awareness
  • Native English, other language a plus
