The Opportunity


We are currently recruiting for a Global Education Cluster Coordinator to be based in our Geneva Advocacy office.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Director, Humanitarian Planning and Preparedness you will coordinate the global Education Cluster in collaboration with the coordinator appointed by UNICEF; with whom you will also manage the Education Cluster Rapid Response Team. The primary objective of the cluster is to strengthen the capacity of Education clusters/coordination teams at the country level to facilitate the development and delivery of predictable, timely, effective and appropriate response. The cluster is currently supporting 29 formally activated working groups; including 4 categorised as Level 3 emergencies.

This is a complex and demanding role in which you will also work closely with the Director of the Education Global Initiative to increase our profile as a humanitarian organisation and strengthen understanding of, and the commitment to, this role within Save the Children.

In order to be successful you will bring significant operational and management experience, familiarity with emergency Education approaches in rapid-onset, complex and chronic situations, knowledge of the latest humanitarian and Education technical guideline and standards and prior experience of working in inter-agency contexts.

On a personal level you will have excellent representation and communication skills, along with the willingness to undertake international travel for up to 25%.
