Job Description:

Independent from the Euro, the UK’s economy is at an advanced phase in predictable economic cycles and is moving out of recession.   This is creating fast growing demand for civil engineering professionals.  As a result one of the UK’s largest international contractors is AGAIN recruiting overseas to fill their growing vacancies.  They have done this many times before and the benefits have been excellent, some employees now with over 20 years continuous service in the UK and overseas.

Opportunities exist in most disciplines and locations both on site and in office support positions.  For the latter, experienced site managers/engineers who prefer a support role, mainly in planning or design, are welcomed.   Equally for roles on site, leading major projects or sections of projects they are also welcomed.

Typically, projects are on large highways and rail construction developments throughout the UK and candidates must demonstrate at least 5 years experience with a reputable contractor working on similar projects.  A degree is desirable but not essential if suitable experience is evident.

By past experience good induction processes/buddy schemes have greatly helped incoming recruits to find their feet, make friends and assimilate into the safety conscious UK way of working, assisted by generous allowances for the initial settling in period.

Job Requirements:

Fluent written and spoken English is essential.  All candidates must be in possession of a current EU passport or have proven documentation which qualifies for a work permit UK under ancestrall grounds.

Salary Benefits:

Salaries, relevant to experience, seniority and appointment category are sufficiently competitive to deter poaching by competitors although other good practices are also an effective deterrent and these are actively deployed.
