Job Description:

HGV/LGV Waste Network Engineers - South East : Based at Chertsey, Crossness, Beckton. Gerrards Cross and Kidlington Thames Valley divisions

We are looking for LGV/HGV drivers Category 1/2 (with a minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience) to be employed as Waste Network Services Drainage Engineers.

Previous experience of working within the Waste Drainage industry is highly desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. What is absolutely essential is the ability to quickly diagnose and deliver solutions to attain the highest levels of customer satisfaction. This type of work requires individuals that have a high degree of common sense and practicality who can work efficiently and safely at all times.

At Lanes Group, nothing is more important than the health, safety and welfare of our people and our customers. It’s a major reason why we are the UK’s largest independent specialist drainage contractor, with over £120 million turnover and more than 1500 employees across a country wide network of 23 branches. Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division as Service Engineers to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

Working either on your own or as part of a team you will respond to emergency calls from customers who are experiencing problems with their drains and sewers. Hopefully, you will fix the problem at the first visit and reassure customers, but if further work is required then you may be part of the team that is called upon to quickly follow up with plant and equipment to clean, repair, replace or CCTV for future reference, the affected part of the network.

We operate 24/7 and as such you will be expected to work flexible hours, weekends and participate in an on call rota if required. The operations are on various shift patterns and further details can be discussed with the Recruitment Team.

Full training will be provided to ensure that all our Service Engineers have the right competency and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience, whilst also providing the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications and skills.

Salary commensurate with the experience, valid tickets held and skills required for the position you are applying for - HGV/LGV Drainage Engineer. Kindly state the position clearly whilst applying to us.

So if you enjoy delivering a best in class customer service, where no two days are the same and you have a full driving license with no more than 6 points, then come and join a company that values you and your ability, we could have the right role for you!

Kindly apply to jobs@lanesgroup.com with your CV and contact details and our team will reach you shortly for an interview if shortlisted!

Job Requirements:

Please ensure you have the right to work in the UK, available to interview at one of the divisions and a fully qualified status as a HGV/LGV class 2 driver with atleast 6 months recent driving experience, no driving restrictins currently applicable and less than 6 points on the licence. Any additonal tickets, qualifications, courses and drainage experience will be an added advantage but are not essential.
