**Business Line** Government **Position Title** Procurement Category Manager United Kingdom - London London **Job Summary** Delivering Procurement Services for Aid (DPSA) is an AECOM led Alliance specialising in procuring goods and equipment that are critical for delivering aid programmes worldwide and we are looking for a Procurement Category Manager to join the team. With the frequency and impact of natural and human-made disasters increasing, we are able to apply our expertise in procurement, supply-chain management, international development and crisis management to help deliver critical aid when and where it's needed around the world. AECOM, with our Partners TWI and Eagle Scientific appointed by the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) utilise DPSA (https://www.dpsa.org.uk/) to support its global procurement and logistics requirements by providing goods, equipment and related advice to all DFID country offices and programme suppliers worldwide, supporting them in the fight against world poverty. Job Duties: + Working within your team, your key responsibilities will include the following: + Deliver the DPSA strategy by championing our objectives and embedding them throughout the teams, working closely with the Commercial and Operations team: + Provide procurement support to DPSA Goods & Equipment projects (opportunities) brought through by DPSA Country Managers across Africa and Asia. To include: + Category management activity within areas such as Pharmaceuticals, Food, Vehicles, IT and Solar Energy + Work with the procurement hub (our Alliance partner TWI) to develop clear specifications to drive better RFQ activity and VFM. + Review and validate rRFQ’s returned by the procurement hub for accuracy, VFM, lead times, supplier due diligence and delivery scheduling. + Deliver the supply chain strategy in practice to successfully grow our supply chain. This may require in-country travel and activity. + Provide procurement/commercial support to the DPSA teams which enables them to deliver services in an efficient manner and meet the needs of our customers. + Provide business transformation and continuous improvement support, primarily to the DPSA Procurement/Commercial Team, to enable us to improve working practices and deliver client requirements. + Provide support to governance and financial management: uphold operational processes and controls and liaise with finance to deliver against our financial plan. + Contribute to a wide range of projects as needed by DPSA teams and as our business requires. This may include DPSA policy development and research projects. + Carrying out research on recent industry developments to help feed in up-to-date information to the group strategy + Provide support across teams both within DPSA and across wider AECOM as may be required + Assistance with bid writing for DPSA and across AECOM + Any other activities that may be required This is a 12 month maternity cover role. **Minimum Requirements** + A bachelor degree + MCIPS + Procurement experience in International Development goods & equipement such as Solar Energy, Pharma, Medical Supplies, Vehicles, IT. + Commitment to CIPS code of ethics, Anti-Bribery & Modern Slavery etc + Research and analytical skills + Energetic and a proactive 'can-do' attitude with professional disposition + Strong Interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills + Microsoft office suite proficiency + Ability to problem solve, including using own initiative + Strong attention to detail and highly organised + An understanding of International Development and the issues and opportunities facing the industry **Preferred Qualifications** + Knowledge of EU Procurement Directives + Knowledge and experience of INCOTERMS / International logistics **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
