We are an established group of 3 companies, this role will involve working within our Precision Engineering company based in Southall. The position we are currently recruiting for is a Senior CNC Machinist/Supervisor who will be reporting to the General Manager. A successful candidate must have at least 5 years experience in working on both manual and CNC machines, both turning lathes and vertical milling machines. All of our machines are Fanuc controlled so it is essential that you familiar and are able to program through these controllers. Your key duties will include, but are not limited to - * Understanding technical drawings both in electronic format and traditional paper copy. * Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. * Setting up mills and lathes with tooling required - chucks, collets etc. * Verifying settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work-pieces; adhering to international standards. * Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. * Maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. * Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. * Working accurately and efficiently with a high attention to detail. * Inspection of parts and ensuring adherence to drawing spec. * Imparting knowledge on the junior CNC machine programmers and operators. * Taking responsibility for time management and scheduling to make sure jobs are completed on time. Essential to the role, you will have: * Excellent attention to detail * Excellent communication skills * Driven and able to work well alone and as part of a team It would also be advantageous if you have experience in CAD design and CAM program importing.
