Job Description:

Ruby On Rails Developer / Ruby / Rails / ROR / JavaScript

It’s an exciting time to join our client. We are scaling up our Technology teams, and looking for an experienced Developer to join one of our Dev Squads. The platform is built on the AWS cloud platform, and is constantly in a state of expansion. We employ various frameworks, from front-end AngularJS interfaces to Swift 3 SDK, and microservices with AWS Lambda. There’s loads to get stuck into in this role – at the moment the team are involved in

* Moving code into Angular components to achieve a better code re-usability
* Exploring microservices with AWS Lambda
* Extracting logic into Pure Javascript framework-independent services
* Re-skinning the application in order to provide a fresher and smoother user experience
* Interacting with a brand new Configurator service, to reach a fully flexible and configurable product

We’re looking for a solid Ruby on Rails Developer to work with one of our core development teams on a number of webhooks to empower third party development teams to integrate with our system.

About You:

* 5 + years of commercial Ruby on Rails development experience and a genuine interest in web development
* Able to work effectively with an established team and demonstrate value quickly
* Ideally commercial experience using some of the following: Javascript (AngularJS/JQuery/Prototype), MySQL, REST APIs, TDD (Rspec, Selenium), HTML5, CSS3, GIT version control, AWS (EC2, S3, Route 53), Linux (Passenger, Apache)
* Agile development experience ideal
* Comfortable working in a non-corporate, start-up environment
* Confident finding solutions to novel problems; ability to proactively solve non-technical problems and remove non-technical blockers on their own accord

This is a unique opportunity to join a company that has the stability and commercial success of a big business, but the heart & soul of a start-up. Our Dev teams are working on truly interesting challenges – engineering issues, scalability, latency, distributed systems… so we need someone who is motivated by problem solving & seeing the wider impacts of their work. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
