Do you ever wonder about the water we drink and use every day? Are you somebody who wants to play an influential role in improving water quality?

Severn Trent Are looking for our newest Water Quality Inspector to join our team in Church Wilne, Nottingham on a permanent basis to assist in providing water samples to our laboratories. We collect around 90,000 water samples across the Severn Trent Water region to ensure our customers receive the very best in Water Quality which is where you will play an influential role.

You will typically start your journey for the day from home and visit approximately 10-12 sampling locations a day which includes water treatment works and customer premises and finish your day dropping of your samples at your base location. For the role you will be provided with a company vehicle to carry out your duties complete with all your sampling equipment. The role will allow you to gain an in depth understanding and appreciation of the importance of water sampling. You will provided with all the training and equipment needed to take the very best samples which our Lab Analysts can analyse. As a part of the role you would also partake in company out of hour’s stand-by duties attending to water quality and associated incidents and events. A key aspect of the role will be to interact with various stakeholders at all levels including members of the public, you will also be responsible to cold call customers and sample at their premises so it is important that you’re a personable individual who is able to build relationships up quickly.

Due to the nature of the role you will be working alone for majority of the day but will be in regular contact with the wider team, it is important that the successful candidate is proactive, confident and shows resilience in sometimes challenging situations. The successful candidate will able to prioritise their working day and ensure that all duties are fulfilled as well as showing strong attention to detail and taking real ownership of their daily duties.
