KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Write tender responses and proposals under the direction of the Bid & Commercial Support Manager re-using / re-working existing content, where possible, and creating new content, where requiredManage the knowledge base of re-usable bid content with the support of the Team administration functionSupport the Bid & Commercial Support Manager in formulating the tender structureWork with others to produce written bid responses in line with deadlines, e.g. Operations, Compliance, Project Management Office, HR, Finance, IT etcMaintain a detailed library of previous and current projects with the support of the Team administration functionManage bid collateral library (knowledge base), producing and updating content where necessary with the support of the Team administration functionUnderstand markets, including best practice, key competitors, governing legislation and key contractsCommunicate effectively with all key stakeholders and partners including colleagues, staff and customers in a multi-directional processAttend meetings and training as requiredEnsure adherence to policies, procedures and reporting systemsDevelop own knowledge and skills in line with departmental, organisational, market and customer requirementsAD HOC RESPONSIBILITIES:Support the Team administration function to ensure that necessary reports, bid tracker and reporting are prepared and submitted on timeSupport the Bid & Commercial Support Manager and Team administration function to ensure bid/proposal activity is recordedSupport the development of the look and feel of tender/proposal responses, liaising with marketing team and using existing templates as requiredWork with the marketing team to produce post bid and company presentationsManage some bids/proposals and other projects in line with company guidelines, where workload necessitatesCRITERIA:2-4 years' experience in Bid Writing or a similar roleExcellent written English with a proven ability to write effective, concise and compelling content while under pressureAble to pull together factual information obtained from a variety of sources in a format which is both interesting and comprehensiveExcellent oral communication skills High attention to detail with an excellent editing and proofing abilityStrong IT skills in Microsoft Office Suite (in particular with high level of Word, PowerPoint and Excel proficiency).Excellent problem solving & analytical skillsSeeks opportunities to streamline and improve work processes and tender submissionsAble to gain cooperation from others and break down barriers (within the team and cross-functionally) to obtain information and accomplish goalsHigh sense of personal responsibility, committed, proactive, quick thinking and adaptableDeadline driven with effective time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritise workloadSelf-motivation with the ability to motivate othersDesirableAPMP foundation level certificateAbility to use Microsoft Access and VisioProposal automation software (or similar) experiencePrevious experience working for a recruitment consultancy and/or exposure to NHS procurementExperience in the Medical services sectorThis job description is intended to be an indication of the scope of the role.
