LOCATION: Leeds, West Yorkshire JOB TITLE: Payroll and Personnel Administration Officer SALARY & BENEFITS: £13,821 (£23,842 pro rata), plus benefits WORKING HOURS: 20 hours a week (working over 4 days) with a flex time scheme THE COMPANY & ROLE: Our Client, a national charity based in Yeadon, West Yorkshire, is looking to recruit someone to work within an existing finance and personnel team on a part time basis. You will be responsible for preparing and processing a monthly payroll for around 60 employees. You will be someone who understands the role of personnel support and can provide statistical reports on attendance, annual leave and other absences. You will also be responsible for administering recruitment exercises. Previous experience of working within a similar role is essential as is a good working knowledge of SAGE 50 payroll. You must have good communication skills and a high level of personal integrity and discretion.Key Responsibilities:- Payroll and Personnel Administration Officer - part time - Leeds, West YorkshireThe Association employs more than 70 people across seven departments. The personnel administration officer works under the direction of the Finance and Personnel Manager to support the administration of the wide range of personnel functions across the Association To provide full administrative support to the Association across the range of personnel functions, specifically with regards to all aspects of payrollDealing with basic enquiries from staff about personnel issues, for example staff holidays, flex time.Prepare monthly payroll for authorisation by Finance and Personnel Manager and Deputy Chief Executive.Update records and systems in line with changes in relevant legislationProvide administrative support in personnel matters for line managers and department managers, including signposting to appropriate policiesAdministering the Association’s portfolio of employee benefits, including pensions, death in service benefit and employee assistance programmeLiaise with recruitment companies and agencies to place advertsLiaise with candidates including issuing recruitment packs, keeping records of applications, arranging interviews and issuing offer and regret letters.Maintaining all personnel records and information in the strictest confidence and in accordance with the Data Protection ActUpdate personnel information into the SAGE softwareAny other duties reasonably required which may from time to time fall within the scope and responsibility of the post *Please note this is not an extensive list of your potential day to day duties* Key skills and experience essential:- Payroll and Personnel Administration Officer - part time - Leeds, West Yorkshire EssentialAt least 12 months’ experience working in a similar personnel/HR administrative support role or evidence that demonstrates a capability to undertake this type of workPrevious experience of SAGE payroll software package for the preparation and payment of BACs salaries, maintaining individual payroll records and submission of statutory informationPrevious experience of spreadsheet software packages for creating and modifying simple spreadsheets and producing simple statistical reportsUp to date knowledge of current payroll legislationA demonstrable understanding of pension auto enrolment and salary sacrifice administrationNegotiation skills and the ability to handle the requirements of different teams positively and efficientlyEducated to at least A level or experience that demonstrates an equivalent knowledge and ability PreferredFormal personnel training and/or qualificationSkills and abilitiesEssentialGood verbal communication skills including a good telephone manner.Good written communication skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionAccuracy and neatnessAbility to work well within a team PreferredAn understanding of customer care which includes the ability to deal with people in a sensitive manner.Ability to function well under pressure and work to deadlinesAdditional criteria EssentialAn understanding of and a commitment to the principles of Equal OpportunitiesHigh level of personal discretion and integrity Closing date: Sunday 22 April 2018Interviews: Week commencing 30 April 2018
