An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Solid works based in North West London, to join this world leader in Audio and Data products.

Due to continued growth they are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Solid works to be responsible for all aspects of new and existing product design, from concept to manufacture for their range of industry leading ruggedized Audio devices.

Key responsibilities for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Solid works will be;

- Responsible for all aspects of product design, from concept to manufacture.
- Provide technical input and guidance to others enabling them to deliver compliant solutions.
- Deliver innovative solutions using industry best practices and in line with company processes to meet technical and business requirements.
- Fulfill the responsibilities of Technical Lead/Design Authority on assigned projects.
- Working within small multi-disciplined teams, deliver work packages on target.
- Provide input and support for the preparation and maintenance of programs of work.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Solid works will require the following qualifications, education and previous experience requirements;

- Degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status (desirable)
- 3D CAD competencies - Solid Works, Pro-E Wildfire .
- To succeed in this position you must have proven ability of creating and promoting design concepts, from initial requirements definition, through to production
.
- Aptitude for industrial design and product styling.
- Knowledge of environmental sealing, and designing for harsh environmental conditions (experience of design for military use is desirable).
- Knowledge and experience of current manufacturing methods, particularly mouldings and mould tool construction, with a proven ability to select materials and finishes.
- Experience of mentoring Mechanical Engineers from a technical and career development perspective (desirable)
