We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Transport team. This role is a permanent contract for a Transport Planner. Working alongside the Transport Manager you will provide support in all aspects of the transport operation within the depot and will be required to develop effective transport plans and control resources to ensure customer and business requirements are achieved while complying with legal responsibilities.

* To control the depot resources ensuring all legal constraints are adhered to (Working time directive and EU Drivers hours).
* Produce effective transport plans ensuring all collections, deliveries and trunking are completed to time.
* Effective management of drivers through ongoing communication.
* Ensuring Isotrak housekeeping is completed to the required standards.
* Communicate with MHS/CS regarding collection issues and late requests.
* Liaising with recruitment agencies to ensure the required amount of resource is in place.
* Take responsibility for any cost reports required by Transport Manager in conjunction with the STS.
* Check new vehicles for damage.
* Complete collection and delivery details on Whistl system as required.
* Fill out and complete daily collection / scheduling paperwork.
* Conduct return to work interviews, sickness reviews when required, in accordance with the company absence policy.
* Keep up to date records of absences and send to the relevant administrator.
* Conduct investigation meetings in accordance with the company disciplinary policy.

Essential Requirements:

* Good people skills
* Be able to work effectively as part of a team
* Planning, prioritising and organisation skills
* Be accurate when maintaining records
* I.T Literate, intermediate MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
* Strong analytical skills – Able to analyse data, spot trends, draw conclusions and make recommendations to Management. Numerate with a methodical approach
* The ability to generate reports

Desirable Requirements:

* To be flexible with hours of work as evening and weekend work required in line with business requirements.
* Working knowledge of Whistl businesses and other activities.
* Knowledge of the roads and motorway networks.
* Previous experience with TMS (Mandata).
* Previous experience in the use of Isotrak.
