Regulatory Specialist - Chemical Compliance

This is a great opportunity for a regulatory professional make a transition from traditional speciality chemicals to a different industry and sector such as medical devices that is affected by chemical compliance. Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Affairs in San Diego, this position is primarily to manage the compliance of the company products in line with chemical legislation.

You will be the regulatory compliance point of contact for external and internal suppliers. This will be to manage compliance policies and be accountable to communicate all regulatory changes as well as managing risk.

As the Principal regulatory point of contact you will communicate regulatory issues for each country and member state.

Liaise with regulatory bodies and relevant trade associations to further enable acting as the company regulatory compliance expert.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree required.
8-10 years Product Compliance experience. ideally within REACH and global regulations / notifications.
Requires a thorough understanding of the various compliance and regulatory regimes; REACH / RoHS regulations and certification preferred
Safety Data Sheets – experience in research and preparation of SDSs.
Thorough understanding of GHS and Classification and Labelling.
Medical device, diagnostics and/or biotechnology industry experience preferred but not a core requirement.
