Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident Engineer with business skills, to gain practical project management skills within this innovative host company. Mentored throughout, your role as Claims Substantiation Assistant will ensure that the technical claims made by the company about their products are backed up with hard scientific evidence and will include coordinating testing, analysing data and producing comprehensive reports. ESPA has placed several successful interns with this host, some now being permanently employed, so this is potentially a great career move!

Tasks
The Claims Substantiation Assistant will work with Managers from both the Claims and Performance teams to;
• Ensure that all performance claims made by the company about their products are substantiated with hard technical or scientific evidence
• Analyse and present data explaining technical detail to non-technical audiences
• Work with Research and Development and Legal to develop appropriate test methods and capability within and outside of the host company
• Navigate between compelling claims that sell products and persuasive, comprehensive data that robustly supports these claims in order to protect the host company from litigation.

The host company, employing over 9,000 people, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative electrical domestic appliances. Renowned for applying exciting new technologies and thinking, they have revolutionised the industry. In September 2017 they announced a £2.5bn expansion programme. Looking to eventually double the workforce, they are seeking dynamic young people to assist in their continued success.

Job Requirements:

Essential
• Working towards a degree in Engineering of any discipline
• Ability to read technical documents
• Good numeracy skills and demonstrable ability to analyse data
• Resourceful, bright, and engaging someone who is creative and able to come up with fresh ideas to deliver technical data in an exciting and uncomplicated way for a diverse audience

Desirable
• Excellent prioritisation skills and being able to say ‘no’ to people in high pressure environments
• Excellent organisational and planning skills – able to work with and communicate across all levels of the business.
• Adaptable – able to hold their own in a wide range of meetings and scenarios
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint/presentation skills advantageous.
