If so, we have an excellent front line support opportunity to support the SMT GB Sales Support Department.

You will responsible for providing effective and efficient support to the sales, marketing and machine preparation elements of SMT in respect of machine specifications, extras (including attachments), compliance with CE requirements, training, pricing and supplier assessments in line with compliance issues. You will also be responsible for the making and maintaining of assembly instructions for the Machine Preparation Centre (MPC); making sure that new instructions are created, both for the locally fitted options as well as supplier assembly instructions when new products are launched.

* To provide a professional advisory service with regard to applications, machine performance, specifications and pricing.
* To source and liaise with suppliers, and Technical Support, on the design and suitability of local attachments and options.
* To compile and deliver effective Training to the Sales departments and Utility Dealers to include features and benefits, applications and specifications, and sales argumentation.
* To deliver effective presentations both internally and externally as required.
* To have a good understanding of machine legislation both current future developments, in particular local HSE incentives.
* To be actively involved with strategic machine demonstrations ensuring correct specification, using appropriate measuring equipment to provide sales arguments and productivity reports.
* To inspect Sales Orders at point of Order Confirmation to ensure options and attachments specified are correct for machine and application.
* To develop and maintain local assembly instructions for the full Volvo Construction Equipment product range as well as for new products.
* Assist MPC staff with technical queries liaising with technical support Duxford or the local supplier for information and guidance.
* Ensure group internal document store is maintained & regularly updated (Q-Pulse).
* Be part of the sales support team assisting the sales support specialists when needed.
* Take all necessary steps to maintain an in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of technical, diagnostic and product information. E.g. attending courses, using computer based training modules, recognising shortcomings and suggesting/actioning ways to improve.

Essential Skills

* Have excellent spelling and grammar required to write technical instructions.

* Have knowledge about compliance legislation for construction machinery.
* Have a good understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Several years’ experience with the products concerned or similar products.

Desirable Skills

* Lean / Six Sigma qualification.
* Specialised diploma within a relevant discipline.
