Toolmaker CNC Operator/Programmer - Shefford, BedfordshireSalary: £28,000 - £50,000 a year - Full-time, PermanentWages would reflect experiencePlenty of overtime with the workshop open from 7am till 6pm and Saturday mornings.The CompanyOur Client has been established since April 2004. In this time we have manufactured Investment Casting Tooling, Ceramic Tooling, and associated Jigs and Fixtures for Companies both in the UK and many other countries around the world including USA, Sweden, Hungary, India, Belgium, Holland - Spain. Due to their continuous growth an opportunity has arisen for a super organised self-motivated career focused Toolmaker CNC Operator/Programmer, who delivers great results with a hands-on approach to join their team in Shefford, Bedfordshire in order to deliver continuous and measurable improvements and achieve agreed objectives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Direct new tool model builds and coordinate mould changes and mould tuningCoordinate mould repair with internal team Create or modify programs for CNC equipment in the Machine ShopInterpret part drawings and specifications to create mould and tool designsCoordinate with engineering and production team to resolve design problems regarding material characteristics, tolerances and cost efficiencyDesign, research, recommend and procure new toolingTrain Machine Shop personnel on operation of equipment, mould maintenance, and machine troubleshooting/maintenanceCorrect problems with poorly performing toolsComplete corrective action reports and proper investigation of root-causePlan and perform diversified machining operations to produce tool, fixture and gauge components necessary for customer specificationsCreate programs and processes to produce machined parts on CNC machinesOperate CNC machines, mills, lathes, surface grinder, drill press, radial drill, and shaper using standard machining practicesTroubleshoot programs, tooling, fixtures, etc. to streamline processes for maximum efficiencyPlan operations, select tooling, machine attachments and work holding methods, set spindle speeds, and tool feed ratesAssist the production machine operator in performing tool try-outs on new or modified toolsSelects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools or materials onto machinesManufactures jigs, fixtures, dies, moulds, machine tools, cutting tools, gauges, and production tooling used in manufacturing processesUtilises knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance to perform assignmentsIdentifies and repairs minor machine malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls as requiredConfers with supervisors, production personnel, programmers, engineers or others to resolve tooling or assembly problemsImportant Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
