Job Description:

We are looking for a talented leader to drive our work as an innovation centre for healthy ageing, testing and growing the use of digital innovations across health and care services. About us We are an innovation centre for healthy ageing, founded by the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham and North-East London Foundation Trust. We research, innovate and educate to enable a happier, healthier older age. We aim to be the innovation partner to our local health and care system. We are a start-up from within the public sector – with the freedom to take risks and be radical, and the partnerships to achieve real, practical change. We are a young organisation, and a talented, committed and friendly team. About you You are looking for a challenge and to be inspired. You want to work with public services - but not necessarily in public services - to change the world for the better. You have experience of research, innovation, service design and project and people management. You are entrepreneurial, and are confident to craft and deliver pitches, proposals and strategies. You take responsibility for your own work and development, and for the well-being and growth of your colleagues. You have the relentlessness to make change happen, and can model that leadership for a young, talented team. You are looking for a platform for your career, not a conveyor belt. You have strong people and problem-solving skills. About the role This is a project-based organisation, composed of ten smart, committed people working as a dynamic, supportive team. We are delivering eight different projects, for partners ranging from NHS England to the Healthy Foundation to the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham. At present, our work includes scaling social prescribing, preventing strokes and falls, supporting carers to learn and thrive and helping to create a ‘healthy new town’ within Barking Riverside. Responsibilities will include: Contributing to Care City’s strategy Leading selected programmes of work Managing project teams Managing selected client and partner relationships Contributing to business development and communications You will start by working on our work to create an 'Innovation Exchange' for East London, helping innovators and health and care leaders to develop, test and scale innovations that can improve patient outcomes and experiences and save money for the public purse.
