Job Description:

The Transport and Distribution Manager is responsible to oversee and manage all operational and financial requirements in compliance with the client/s agreement and to meet the required KPI’s including on time billing & POD submission, business development growth, commercial acumen, act as main Sales Person for Distribution (FD) services, participate on RFQ’s/ RFP’s/ RFI’s, create tariff rates for subcontractor/s & target client/s , conduct market research to bench mark pricing and meet target monthly profit & loss for all existing & future Distribution operations and have the capability to prepare presentation materials & be able to deliver & present it to the client or subcontractors.

Your Role

•Responsible for business growth development for domestic trade which pertains to land, air, sea, RORO. LCT/ barge or project movements for nationwide deliveries.
•Responsible to make market strategy to strengthen and penetrate local market to expand business in domestic trade.
•Responsible to meet set monthly target GP & net profit for FD and make necessary closing of job file transactions as per agreed monthly financial cut-off/ closing time.

Your Responsibilities

  • Act as main sales person to promote & grow business for distribution services.
  • Responsible to provide necessary data/ rates/ transport model needed for any RFQ/ RFP or RFI participation for Distribution services.
  • Collaborate, coordinate & assist clients on all inquiry pertaining to deliveries/ distributions transactions.
  • Represents the company on meetings, business reviews and seminars as maybe assigned.
  • Maintaining and establishing good contact and business relationship with CL operations team, trucking companies and other related service providers i.e. airline, shipping line, rigging company, local LCT/ barge operator, VISMIN agents & others as deem necessary for daily operations.
  • Responsible to create & update standard selling tariff rate for air, sea, land, and RORO transactions (selling & net rates).
  • Responsible to conduct market research to bench mark fair pricing for subcontractors and for KN competitive selling
  • Responsible to conduct quarterly customer survey report to bench mark our service quality & performance.
  • Perform Project Management as deem necessary by the management.
  • Responsible to ensure all set KPI for sub-con are being meet & discuss on monthly basis with regular report to be submitted to immediate superior every 5th of the following month for
    previous month transactions.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the domestic freight forwarding industry and knowledgeable in all facets of domestic transactions for Air & Sea including RORO operations and transhipment processing, LCT/ Barge operations/ selling and managing project cargoes.
  • Have excellent business acumen skill & capable to act as main Sales Person for distribution services, able to participate & create any RFQ/ RFP/ RFI and can bring/ acquire big accounts to KN once hire.
  • Have the ability & skill to conduct business presentations & prepared presentation materials
  • Have established strong relationship with carriers, airline and VISMIN local agents and can provide and liaised with a reliable trucking company.
  • Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self motivated and disciplined with the ability to work with one’s own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
