Job Description:

You’re a talented full-stack developer who loves the challenges that come with leading the technical side of a fast-growing, multifaceted business. You’re excited to work with an elite group of developers, providing the hands-on leadership to shape them into one of the best teams in the world. When it comes to coding standards, you have a passion for perfection and you’re willing to provide the mentorship it takes to help your teammates hit those high standards.

And on top of all that, you value a true work/life balance where you’ll help build a company at a key time in our growth, while maintaining enough free time to pursue your outside interests.

If all that is true, you just might be our new Senior Full-Stack Developer

About The Role

We're looking for someone who can come in and lead our technical team. This role is comprised of five main responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development of our products: You’ll manage the small team that works on our internal products, chime.io and pilot.io. We currently use a mixture of Ruby on Rails and React/Node.js. (Though the React/Node.js project is not a dealbreaker if you have no experience there.)
  2. Lead our agency development: You’ll manage our agency team and help them create processes and best practices to do things more efficiently by the month. We do a lot of development in WordPress and other marketing CRMs (like Marketo and Hubspot). We also do custom software development in Ruby, Angular, and React.
  3. Lead our DevOps/Admin department: You’ll work with our Senior DevOps Admin to ensure best practices and efficiency. We’ll be releasing a hosting-based product in 2019, so familiarity and passion there would be highly beneficial. We currently use a combination of the managed hosting platforms Heroku and DigitalOcean.
  4. Be the technical expert and the face of our company: We work with lots of large, Silicon Valley-based tech companies, and we’ll need you to take point on calls and provide face time in meetings. We also occasionally attend conferences and other events where you’d be needed to represent our brand’s technical side.
  5. Inspire and grow the development culture within the company: We want to attract the best people, and to create a work environment that does that naturally. You’ll help us hire and recruit, design growth paths for our developers, and provide heavy coaching and process implementation that allows us to scale at incredible speed.

We currently have a mixture of in-house developers and remote developers, with the majority of our team locally based in Coquitlam

Job Requirements:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Managed a team of 5+ before
  • Have created processes and systems in a rapidly growing business
  • 5 + years experience as a full-stack developer
  • Possess strong ability to communicate
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit, love startups and products and the culture associated with it

Perks:

  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive Healthcare Benefits
  • Casual work environment
  • Friday team lunches
  • Remote working opportunities
  • Work directly with our founders to help build and grow Redstamp

Bonus points if you have a massive appreciation for design!

We're willing to pay a base salary of $65-85k depending on the experience level and equity combo. We also have really good benefits and company perks. We're only looking for people who are looking for a new home, and something you can spend purposeful time working on. We're highly focused on creating a lifestyle—not just a business.

If you think you'd enjoy working with us, we'd love to talk to you.
