Job Description:

The purpose of the Sales Representative - Aftermarket is to sell parts & services for JLG and non-JLG machines. This can range from anything such as batteries, tires, casing, mechanical components and accessories as well as maintenance & service contracts or refurbishing of Aerial Work Platforms and Telehandlers. The Sales Representative maintains strong relations with existing customers, and seeks new customers to aggressively grow our customer base. This position will have frequent contact with customers (both in-person and by phone), with suppliers and internal departments at JLG.
 
The geographical area covered by this role is Germany. The Aftermarket Sales Representative could be based in the JLG Deutschland GmbH office in Bremen or working from home. This is a position that includes travel. An occasional presence at the nearest JLG office may be required from time to time. The Aftermarket Sales Representative reports to the Senior Manager of Customer Support, and is reporting dotted line to the Service Manager in Germany.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain existing customer accounts; keep contact with existing customers in person and by telephone; make appointments to meet new and existing customers
  • Call on potential new customers to solicit parts and service sales; generate and qualify leads; manage leads
  • Understand customers’ needs; make presentations to promote products and special deals
  • Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
  • Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
  • Coordinate sales activities including order entry, price quotes, schedules, deliveries, etc.
  • Advise customers about delivery schedules and after-sales service and support
  • Aggressively expand sales and service activity throughout designated territory; meet and/or exceed sales, margin and profitability targets for designated territory
  • Prepare sales contracts and obtain credit authorization, and report sales trends
  • All other duties and responsibilities that are reasonably assigned

Job Requirements:

  • 3 years of relevant sales experience
  • Willing and able to travel
  • Fluent with German and working knowledge of English. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or a related qualification
  • Familiarity with heavy machinery, trucks or the automotive industry is advantageous 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Excellent negotiation skills
