Tech and product are the agile core of our company, so as an Scrum Master at FinReach, you will work with our small SCRUM teams to improve teams of developers and overall project management by increasing collaboration, innovation, and introducing techniques that promote adaptability and flexibility. While working towards your achievements, you will have an incredible amount of impact on the current state and future direction of our products, with visibility throughout the organization and a significant opportunity to take ownership.


What you’ll achieve:


3 months:

  • Become comfortable with FinReach tools and processes by partnering with a member of our teams to ramp up effectively

  • Assess the Scrum Maturity of our teams and organisation and coach the teams to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for everyone

  • Supporting our Product Owners, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog

  • Facilitate meetings as a neutral moderator, e.g. on our retrospectives

  • Start self-organizing your own work, collaborating with our scrum teams in order to ensure radical transparency across the organization.

6 months:

  • Ensure transparency and open communication on all dimensions; speed, stakeholder engagement and processes

  • Develop, implement and manage team metrics, evaluate team metrics and make recommendations to teams and management for improvements

  • Own efficient organizational structures to allow autonomy, low-dependency operation within business lines that are aligned and integrated with the rest of the company

  • Support teams building structures and processes for effective knowledge sharing

  • Continually hone your craft and learn about new tools and techniques to pass on to our teams.

Job Requirements:

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Outstanding people and project management skills (excellent knowledge of JIRA), strong believer in the principles behind the Agile Manifesto

  • Strong current experience (3+ years) as a Scrum Master / product owner in an international, fast moving environment; proven track record of successfully introducing agile development and coaching principles into IT organizations is required (min. of 3 finished and delivered & published products)

  • Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games

  • A deep sense of ownership of the work you do and believe in doing things the right way for the right reasons

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; written skills and presentation skills. You will be working with people around the world, which means you will need to have superior English language skills (German skills are a plus)

  • High energy and drive; scrum masters are crucial people managers in our company and need the energy & passion to be on top of their game

  • Natural curiosity, ability and desire to learn quickly; not afraid of driving change

  • Have experience from companies developing PAAS services

  • Extra points for previous work experience as a Software developer or as an quality assurance engineer

About us:

Our technical stack consists of several services which are written in Java, Ruby, Python and Clojure. They communicate via HTTP and data is stored in MongoDB, MySQL, and Elasticsearch. Our frontends are based on React.js and Angular.js. The services are running in Docker containers in a private data center for high security. Deployments are orchestrated with Ansible and Rundeck, and we are looking forward to moving to Kubernetes. We use GitHub for source control and Travis CI for continuous integration. The development process is in Scrum-based with 2-weeks sprints.
