Essential duties and Responsibilities

As assigned by the Maintenance Manager, the Inspection Lead will be responsible to supervise the inspection maintenance crews’ activities IAW the policies, procedures, and standards described or incorporated by reference to the Company Maintenance Policy Manual.

The Inspection Lead will also ensure, with proper supervision, that each maintenance action on non-type certified aircraft, including the embodiment of modifications or repairs, is released in accordance with acceptable data as defined in the Company Maintenance Control Manual.


Specific duties for the Inspection Lead include to:
 
  • Ensure that all aircraft inspections and component repairs are carried out safely;
  • Effectively plan labour and scheduled maintenance activities to support the Fleet Management aircraft production schedule;
  • Give Daily Safety and Situational Awareness Briefings;
  • Ensure maintenance activities are performed with the highest attention;
  • Ensure that duties are assigned to appropriately trained maintenance personnel;
  • Ensure that dual and/or independent inspections have been carried out as required;
  • Ensure that functional tests have been carried out as required;
  • Ensure that maintenance releases by certifying personnel have been correctly carried out; and
  • Ensure that all certifying maintenance releases for company aircraft itemizing all maintenance performed and any outstanding defects are completed and recorded appropriately.


In addition, the Inspection Lead will:
 
  • Liaise with Logistics/Engineering and Maintenance Control to ensure the maintenance schedule is maintained;
  • Ensure that all aircraft maintenance technicians and maintenance staff working under his/her supervision adhere to the Company MPM, Transport Canada regulations, GAF regulations, TA Flight Safety program, TA Health and Safety program, Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) program and QMS/SMS processes;
  • Participate in the performance management process for employees in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager;
  • Ensure maintenance hand over briefs are carried out for incoming and outgoing supervisors;
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager;
  • Ensure the maintenance activities maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures;
  • Manage the work orders and associated financial responsibilities of scheduled maintenance within the scope of the assigned duties and budget.

Supervisors are responsible for:
 
  • Providing a safe and healthy workplace including the necessary equipment, systems, and tools which are properly maintained
  • Providing information, training, instruction and supervision to protect the Occupational Health and Safety of Employees
  • Ensuring Employees under their direction know and comply with Occupational Health and Safety requirements
  • Ensuring Employees under their direction receive adequate supervision.
  • Establishing, supporting, and consulting with Occupational Health and Safety committees and Workplace Occupational Health and Safety representatives on all matters to improve workplace Occupational Health and Safety including regular safety inspections of the workplace.

 

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience in Project Management and management of scheduled maintenance processes is mandatory.
  • A valid Transport Canada M2 or EASA B1 license is an asset.
  • Proven track record to support and lead safe operations to include, but not limited to: OHS, Flight Safety, Maintenance Procedures, and Human Factors.
  • Proven track record to effectively lead and motivate teams in a respectful manner.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Ability to perform all work in support of our Corporate Values of Service, Integrity, Excellence, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrates strong and visible support of our values.
  • Sense of urgency, focus on compliance, results, and deadlines.
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Must possess valid vehicle operator license for passenger vehicles.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime and shift work to ensure aircraft production.
  • Will be required to work outdoors.
  • Travel is required for the position
  • Position requires Security Clearance with the German Government.
