Job Description:

We are urgently looking for an experienced native-level speaker professional to join a dynamic, friendly team of teachers on a contract until June. If you are a fun and versatile all-rounder, this could be the job for you.

The school is in the warm south of Italy, in the beautiful and historic city of Matera. It is a small, independent language school within the well-known British Schools group. Founded in 2015, it has built itself up thanks to the commitment and passion of the director and her team of teachers. Their motto is English Is Fun, based on a communicative approach. The school boasts an excellent reputation due to the quality of its staff and teaching standards.

The school provides courses for a range of requirements including - but not exclusive to - Cambridge Exam (and other exams) preparation, pre-school and Young Learners, General English for adults, conversation classes and ESP (particularly for hospitality purposes). Courses are provided for all ages (starting at 3 years old) and levels. The school organises study holidays abroad , summer camps and other initiatives. The school is a Cambridge Exam Preparation Centre.

You would have at least a few years’ relevant experience in teaching English, enjoy teaching young adults as well as young learners, and be ready to start as soon as possible. The Young Learners market is expanding and so experience and enthusiasm in this area is essential for classes which take place in local schools. There will also be exam preparation classes.

You should be ready for Skype interview now and be able to start teaching in January.

We offer an excellent package of benefits for this position:

  • €1200 basic net monthly salary
  • (renewable) contract for a maximum of 25 teaching hours weekly
  • assistance with finding suitable accommodation (renting in the area is inexpensive and easy)
  • in-house training and professional development (an hour per week)

Apply now with your full CV and make sure to mention when you would be available to fly to Italy.

Job Requirements:

  • your spoken English must be of native level standard
  • you need to hold a CELTA or Trinity TESOL or equivalent
  • degree - BA or above
  • preferably at least 2 years of EFL teaching experience (young learners experience preferred)
  • you must be entitled to live and work in the EU
  • if you hold a driving licence and speak Italian, it will be a plus.
