At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.We are looking for a Senior Scrum Master to join our global technology organisation based in Coimbra, Portugal, working in a hybrid model. In this role, you will lead multiple global software scrum teams and support the delivery of high‑quality software solutions in a regulated environment, while driving agile maturity and continuous improvement.What will you be doing?Lead multiple global software scrum teams from planning through execution using agile methodologies and best practicesFacilitate sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across multiple concurrent teamsCollaborate with Product Owners, Marketing, Field Service, R&D, Quality, and PMO to ensure priorities and sprint goals are alignedEstablish, track, and report KPIs related to predictability, efficiency, and delivery outcomesActively identify and remove impediments and risks that hinder team progressSupport the software release process and promote continuous improvement in ways of workingMentor teams and stakeholders on agile principles, mindset, and practicesWhat will you need to be successful?Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Scrum Master, with 5+ years’ overall experience in software development, engineering, or project managementBachelor’s degree in a technical or project management‑related fieldStrong hands‑on experience with agile tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, or similarSolid understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and scaling frameworksStrong communication, coaching, and conflict‑resolution skillsExperience working in a regulated industry (e.g. MedTech or Life Sciences)Knowledge of IEC 62304 (preferred)Scrum certification such as CSM, PSM, or equivalentYou.
